
Our staff and directors have extensive operational and technical experience gained from many years of working in numerous production plants across six continents.
John Bunter
John has extensive minerals sands processing experience over the past three decades
working in Australia, South Africa and Sierra Leone. John was principal metallurgist
for commissioning of Ticor’s mineral processing plants at Empangeni in RSA. He spent
many years with RGC, Iluka, SRL, and Allied Eneabba in senior mineral processing roles
as well as more recently with Outotec Australia. John has played instrumental roles
in the development of novel technology and flowsheet advancements in magnetic,
electrostatic and gravity technology and flow sheets throughout his operations career.
Steve Gilman (BappSc, FAusIMM, MAIME)
Steve has had a diverse career in the minerals processing industry which, in addition
to the mineral sands industry, has included experience in copper smelting, lime and
cement manufacturing industries. The emphasis in his career has been in mineral sands
operations. Since his employment at Allied Eneabba Limited as a metallurgist in 1976,
Steve has had varied and comprehensive mineral sands experience. Senior roles
included General Manager for RGC’s operations in Florida, General Manager of the
Eneabba operations, and Group Operations Manager for RGC Mineral Sands Limited.
Steve joined TZMI as a Principal Consultant and Director in 2000.
Elana Williams (BSc Chemical Engineering)
Elana has more than 15 years experience in the mineral sands industry. She started
her career in process development, gaining extensive experience in the various separation
techniques employed in the mining and processing of heavy mineral orebodies. This included
flowsheet development for slimes handling, as well as gravity, magnetic and electrostatic
separation processes. She was involved in business improvement activities, mainly
in a business analyst role to support the capital decision making process, This was
done by building and maintaining an integrated production and cost model for the business.
Elana gained further valuable process experience as the manager of the Mineral Separation Plant
in Richards Bay Minerals prior to joining AML in March 2009.
